2.4.4: PDF text spaced the way it was written

• A PDF that names a common font like Helvetica or Times without carrying it now shows in the matching font Sopycat ships with. Before, a font from your PC stood in and was squeezed to fit, which left uneven gaps inside words.

2.4.3: the sample matches the website

• The sample manual in a new library is now "Issue a refund in Lakeview Supply", the same pretend program the website shows. A library that already has the old sample keeps it.

2.4.2: a simpler mark and a plainer typeface

• The mark is now just the cat: a round head with its ears and whiskers, and the lines of a document where its face would be. The magnifying glass is gone.
• The name beside it, and every heading on this website, is set in Geist, a quieter and more professional typeface.
• The record dot on the website's buttons is the same small white dot that breathes on the app's Record buttons.

2.4.1: every step right on a real website

Tested against a real procedure in Chrome: getting from the YouTube home page to the advanced settings and copying an ID.

• Buttons and links on a page that has only just loaded are named correctly: Sopycat asks about the spot your pointer rests on just before you click.
• A click is never named after a neighbouring button, and a label half hidden by the pointer is read from a moment before the pointer got there.
• Each step's picture is the moment you clicked, with the pointer on the button.
• The outline round each click is violet, and the step number sits on it, centred on its top edge. Neither ever covers what you clicked. Existing manuals are repainted in the new look.

2.4: a new name and a new look

Sopycat: SOP as in standard operating procedure, and a copycat that watches a task once and writes it down. The new mark is a magnifying glass with a cat's ears and whiskers, reading the lines of a document.

• A violet look throughout, and a dark theme that is almost black with a trace of violet. It now opens dark from the first moment, and switching fades softly.
• The box round each click in a step's picture covers the whole control: all of a table row, a tick box with its words, the whole button.
• Blurs on a step's picture now also cover that step in the tutorial video and in Follow along.
• With automatic blurring on, pictures are now blurred before an online writer sees them.
• A manual inside a folder shows Move to folder in its menu again.

2.3: step titles that name what you clicked

• Steps are named from what Windows reports about the control you clicked: a button's caption, a tab's name, a field's label, a table row's first cells.
• Every name read from the screen is checked against a dictionary, so a smudge of pixels never becomes a step title.
• Opening a list or menu and picking from it is now one step: Choose Canada in Country.
• The recording bar shows the name of each click as you make it.
• Buttons never spill out of their panels, the smallest window keeps the Library's buttons on one row, and Escape closes every dialog.

2.2: the first round of tester feedback

• PDF edits on every tab wait together and one Save writes them all. Switching tabs keeps them.
• Marks on a PDF each have an ×, pictures and signatures turn a quarter at a time, and text boxes can be dragged after you place them.
• Blurred areas on a step's picture can be moved and resized.
• New tools: Edit a PDF and Convert files. Word, Markdown and text files open straight into their editors.
• Folders: rename from the folder page, one button to close them all, and a click on a folder opens it.
• A full quality pass: 73 problems found across every feature, 69 fixed in 2.2.2.

2.1: the tutorial video and more ways to make a manual

• A narrated recording also becomes a tutorial video, with a ring on each click and a caption per step.
• Record more steps into an existing manual, add steps from a video file, or make a manual by hand from screenshots.
